The Grand Kampar Hotel, the destination of the Young Adults Camp (YADs) for the year 2010. A place surrounded by food and nature. After 2 and a half hours driving from Revival Centre, 20 excited campers finally reached their destination.
They were greeted at the hotel’s grand entrance and proceeded to check in. At 4.30pm they started their very first activity, ice breakers and get-to-know you games. Sheena Jayne and Flora Dicka gave the campers an evening of laughter they would never forget. After the team building and exciting games, there was some free time where campers had a leisurely tea, swam in the pool, went for a stroll and had some exciting ping pong matchups! Then it was the highlight of the day, dinner!
The campers had steamboat dinner which dishes that were fit for a king. They ate and ate and ate. After the hearty meal they proceeded to the very first service where worship was led by Dorothy. Soon, Pastor Lisa shared some of her personal testimonies during the sharing of the word. Campers were touched and good time of prayer ensued.
As night arrived, it was supper time. They had a leisurely stroll to the Kampar Station Café around the corner. The food and drinks were tantalizing. They had laughs and the paparazzi were out in full force. As the night turned into wee hours of the morning the tired campers went to bed while the remaining cheerful campers went to play ‘Taboo’.
Early the next morning, a hearty breakfast and photo session ensued. During the second session, Jeremy led in worship with some ‘action’ songs. Pastor Lisa again shared the word about how to live life the way God wants us to live, based on Ephesians 5.
All in all there were 20 campers that went. We believe that their lives were impacted and they were challenged in their spiritual walk with God. Kudos to the organizers and participants, for an exciting YADs Getaway 2010.
